Goulburn Challenge Foundation Incorporated

The Goulburn Challenge Foundation INC provides temporary residential care for children with disabilities at the Crescent Lodge. A maximum of six children can be accommodated at any one time, the aim being to provide as normal a home environment as possible. It is not intended to provide permanent care.

The Challenge Foundation also has a group home which is a service for young adults. It is a residential group home for up to four young adults with disabilities and is located in Dalley St, Goulburn. This facility has been operating since 1999 funded by the State Government.

We are now eligible to take disabled children from the main stream in the Southern Highlands including Yass, Crookwell, Taralga, Braidwood, Goulburn and surrounding areas.

We are now running vocational care in the school holidays for one week per term. Vocational care accommodates six children per day. The next vocational care will be commencing at 8am Monday 11th July and closes 4pm Friday 15th July. For further information contact Margaret O'Neill CEO on 02 4821 2928.

We decorate Crescent Lodge for Christmas and the children look forward to this. The residents of Goulburn enjoy our decorations. We have won the Goulburn 'Best Decorated House' prize 3 years running. At the end of the year we have a large Christmas party which the clients, families and business people who have donated attend.

We have a large fundraiser in November which is called 'Calcutta' in conjunction with the Goulburn and District Racing Club, and we have distinguished guests as our guest speakers on the night. This year will be a large fundraiser. This year we will be having special guests to raise as a large fundraiser, not only for the 'Calcutta', but for the relocation of our services to another area. We are working with the State/Federal Government refunding to relocate our service. All of our services are to be in one and we are also looking to start a new service for respite for 18-35 year olds.
